browsing the web . . . .

I stay up on the Britney news.   I can’t help it.  It is addictive.  But this has to be the best thing I have read (courtesy msnbc.com).

We hate Federline because he’s just like that jerk your sister married who brags about his mafia connections and blows the family’s insurance payout on a water filter pyramid scheme. He’s the bad boy scumbag your friend is dating — the one she insists is her soul mate. He’s also the bad boy scumbag you insisted was your soul mate, back when you were young and stupid. That’s how you know you can’t excise the scumbag jerk from your sister or friend. You can only watch events unfold like falling china you’ll never be quick enough to catch.

I got to say I completely relate.  Dump the trash!  Get rid of the boil on your butt and get some balls!  Let him go Britney before he takes everything away from you, career, money, self-respect.

Next - I love Lost.  It is such a good show.  But this paradoy that Jimmy Kimmel did is absolutely hilarious.

Enjoy it!

A Continuation of the Golden Globes: Just finished glass one

  • Poor Drew Barrymore’s boobs.  They hung so low in that green frock and her nipples looked freaky.
  • Geena looks good in red.  Her hair isn’t over powering. And I have watched Commander in Chief.  And the show really is good.
  • Boo on house.  Dr. McDreamy or Party of Five Dude totally deserved it more because I watch those shows and I think that gives them all of the reason to win.  Goddamnit.
  • The Office is hilarious.  Good job Steve!  And his wife must be so pleased with his acceptance speech.
  • Reese made back points with her speech.  Yeah!
  • How Desparate Housewives didn’t win I have no idea.  One of them should have.

I am done on the comments. It is time for me to play computer games.

Comments early in to the Golden Globes

I have had one glass of wine.

  • Scarlett Johannson looks really good.  Her hair looks abosultely fabulous with the darker shades in it and the red dress just completmented her so well.
  • Reese’s outfit is one of the first missteps that I have seen her make in such a long time.  What is with the silver on top?
  • George Clooney starting with the jokes.  Jack and Abramoff too good.
  • Rachel Weiss should not have won.  And what was with her dress?  Is she pregnant?  She had such a pooch at the front of it that I really couldn’t decide.
  • Johnny Depp get a haircut.
  • Jessica Alba is delicious.  She looked fabulous in the black dress.
  • Brandon Ralph is an idiot.  Superman Shuperman. The glasses montage was stupid.
  • Yeah Sandra!!  I love that show. Grey’s Anatomy totally rocks.  And anyone who doesn’t think so then they haven’t seen the great acting going on there.  It is honestly the one show that I can say that both Matt and I love equally.  Well really that and Lost.  But totally different genres.

Oh the ugly Cry

Matt decided that this was a great weekend to go to Vegas with his friends.  Without his wife.  Only the boys.  Enough said.

I have received a copious amount of drunk calls that some would call a "booty call" if we were not married and in two different cities.  I like to call them dedications to the one he loves.  They are fun, and normally something I look forward to.  But not when I am watching a movie.

I came home tonight to find that the Fox Family Channel was showing one of their new TV movies and I got addicted.  Yes it had Jennifer Love Hewitt in it.  And I loved it.

But goddamnit they made it hard for me to love.  True love, great story, good chemistry between her and the guy.  And then he dies saving her life.  He knew that she would die and instead gave his life.  And I cried and cried.  My dogs stared at me in horror while I heaved the cry that every girl knows.  Complete snot coming down my face, bright red, giant elephant tears.  SOBBING.  I loved it.

Thank god Matt went to Vegas this weekend.

Continuing Fodder

This just hurts so much to read and know that we have some heavy times to look forward to:

Can we not get one person in the job for the majority leader that does not have dirty people in their back pockets?  Is there not a single person in the Senate that does not have some crazy background with people paying them left and right for votes?  How many others should be charged with crimes?  I didn't think that it could get worse, but I guess it will.

Woman - please interrupt her!

I have never liked Angelina Jolie.  I think that she is just weird.  She and Scarlet Johnanson.  Did you read the thing about her not believing in monogamy?  Maybe it just shows that I am much more traditionalist than I think, but I swear that the two of them saying is just their way of trying to make it okay that they are pretty slutty.  I have seen the men Angelina makes out with, and I have heard all of the naked Scarlet stories and I have to say, I am not a fan.  PUT ON SOME CLOTHES AND ACT YOUR AGE.

But I really have found that my distaste for Angelina has grown.  I have had this non-intentional boycott on anything she is in and have only seen three of her movies (as reported by imdb).  Which if I look at her list of movies, most of them have blown since Girl Interrupted – a la 7 years ago.  Lets just go through some of this list:

  1. Mr. & Mrs. Smith– only thing that saved it were the romantic scenes between Angelina and Brad.  Rest was said to be crap.
  2. Alexander – this has been panned as one of the worst movies ever made, and they only thing that came out of it is another co-star that she has bedded.
  3. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow – Did this even come out in the theaters?  I this had like 75 famous people in it – Jude, Gwyneth, Angelina . . .  and it STUNK at the box office.
  4. Life or Something Like It– I watched it.  And I liked it, for a movie with no substance and an easy watch while you iron.  Not Oscar worthy.  I also think she got it on with Ed Burns.  Or I might be starting a new rumor, but lets just go with it for now.
  5. Gone in Sixty Seconds– Only people who saw this were car junkies that wanted a good action movie.  And only the action was worth it.

I am not asking for the rest of you to join my boycott, I just would like to point out that this woman has really done nothing for the betterment of the cinema for quite some time; the only she does continually add is gossip and exploits to the covers of all of the trashy magazines (that I will read in the grocery store line, I don’t lie).  Why are we giving her so much time and space in our news moments!  Why are we letting her have such pull over our daily columns!  For the love of pete I would like one month where I did not hear Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears’ names.  Let Angelina live her life without us constantly following every move.  Let her have some peace and space.  Maybe that will help her chose better films.

*** I recognize that I perpetuate the issue with constantly reading People Magazine, but I love the outfits!  What can I say!  It is almost Oscar season people and it is high time that I get to enjoy the taffeta, satin, and dare I say polyester. Whether or not I praise or haze, I have GOT to have my time to review.

My Conversation on IM today:

TS says: OK - Tom Delay is potentially replaced with Roy Blunt or John Boehner.  Ray LaHood is going to campaign for Boehner.  Even though we're supposed to pronounce it Bay-nor it really looks like it should be pronounced differently...

 RLDW says: hahahah

RLDW says: oh that poor man

RLDW says: you know he soooooo got teased, as do his children

 TS says: to recap:

 DeLay, Blunt, Boehner, LaHood...

TS says: they all want to control the House

RLDW says: would you want a Boehner controlling your house?

 TS says: negative

RLDW says: maybe LaHood, but Boehner?

TS says: I decided Friday I pulling for Blunt over Boehner

RLDW says: at least he is more up front about it. You can't hide the pronunciation there - blunt - aka - illegal drugs

 TS says: yep

 TS says: LaHood - gangsta

RLDW says: boehner - aka  Michael Jackson

Smiths UNITE!

I have 2 sisters and no brothers.  When each of my sisters had the chance to marry, they BOTH chose to get hitched to men with the last name Smith.  We thought it was kind of funny.  Everyone becoming a fairly generic name after being born into a very different last name.  Now we find out there is reason to celebrate such a fantastic bland name:

This is a fabulous way to enjoy being one of 3 million people!  YEAH SMITHS!!!!!

What in the world?!?!

Pat Robertson is an idiot.   Talk about a real Christian.  Who decided that this guy was worthy of actually listening to?  He is a close-minded bigot who should be booted off the air waves and sent packing to another country that isn’t quite so tolerant of free speech.  In the White House’s first smart move since the Bush tyranny began they actually decided to come out against Robertson.  Holy Fuck.  Who would think that Bush would allow a press secretary to say such things against a Christian Brethren?
